My name is Andreas Serafim.
I am a specialist in Greek oratory/rhetoric, law and performance, with a wide range of other research interests, including ancient Greek religion, reception, linguistics, gender/sexuality theories, and other interdisciplinary theories (such as humour theories and persuasion). I obtained a Ph.D. degree from University College London (2013; supervisor: Professor Christopher Carey) and an M.A. from the University of Texas at Austin (2010; supervisor:Professor Michael Gagarin). I am a Research Fellow (equivalent to Assistant Professor) at the Research Centre for Greek and Latin Literature of the Academy of Athens.
I hold several academic positions in Cyprus and abroad: Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Cyprus (2017-19); Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Cyprus (2014/15 & 2016/17); Adjunct Lecturer at the Open University of Cyprus (2014-17); Government of Ireland Postdoctoral Fellow at Trinity College Dublin (2015/16); Honorary Research Fellow (2013-15); Assistant Lecturer (2012/13) and Teaching Assistant (2010-13) at University College London; and Teaching Assistant at the University of Texas at Austin (2008-10).
